Dear Future Teacher,

Hey! I am so excited for you to start your journey as a teacher. How is your first classroom coming along? Do you have your plans all put together for your first year of teaching? Here’s a few things that I learned that I don’t want you to forget and some more questions I have. First, are you sticking with google classroom for your learning management system or have you found something new you’re going to try? (Mod 3, LMS & BL). Don’t forget to check with your administration about all the options you have for blended learning. Technology can be a really great tool to boost excitement and student engagement in your classroom, but rely back on your foundation for integrating technology. Remember that it’s not a substitution for real classroom instruction. It is super important to teach our students that the person, kind and respectful, they are expected to be in your classroom are the same person they need to be online, and don’t forget to start with teaching them about their digital footprint (Mod 3, DN & DS). It’s part of our job to keep our kiddos safe and we don’t want them sharing things they shouldn’t online, it’s out there forever if they do. Take a moment if you need a refresher on all the kinds of blended learning, right now I really love the rotation stations and it would be helpful if your school doesn’t have full classroom access to technology. But you might see something different that sparks your interest. I just hope that your students this year begin to love learning as much as you do.
